Extractions – Wisdom Teeth
If tooth decay is allowed to progress to the point where the tooth cannot be saved, extraction (removal) of the tooth may be the best, if not only, course of treatment. Most extraction surgeries (including impacted wisdom teeth) can be performed at The Dental Center; however, you may be referred to a maxillofacial surgeon if your case is particularly complex.
In cases of oral surgery, a panorex x-ray will be taken. This will allow us to see a complete picture of your jaw alignment, including the positioning of your teeth and third molars (wisdom teeth), if applicable. This x-ray also provides an excellent diagnostic tool for evaluating your supporting bone structure and checking for possible cysts or tumors.
Extractions, like our other procedures, will be performed in such a way that you remain comfortable. The Dental Center will take all necessary steps to ensure that you are at ease during the entire procedure.
